Cement clinker generally refers to ordinary silicate clinker, which is a product with calcium silicate as the main mineral component obtained by calcining raw materials of appropriate composition until they are partially melted. Raw materials are made of limestone, clay, iron materials, etc. in appropriate proportions, ground into fine powder, and then calcined at a high temperature of about 1400°, partially melted to undergo chemical reaction, and then rapidly cooled to obtain a gray-black granular product. Cement clinker is a semi-finished product and one of the main raw materials for making cement.
Cement clinker process flow
The main raw materials of cement clinker include limestone, clay, iron ore, etc. These raw materials are usually mined from mines and need to be turned from large pieces of materials into small pieces by crushers for easy transportation and homogenization.
After the crushed raw materials are homogenized and stored, they are mixed in a certain proportion and enter the grinding equipment for simultaneous drying, grinding, and mixing into raw material powder, which is temporarily stored in the raw material homogenization warehouse. Raw material grinding traditionally uses ball mills, which have been gradually replaced by vertical mills and roller presses in recent years.
Then the raw material is preheated by the preheater, and then released into the decomposition furnace to release carbon dioxide, and then enters the rotary kiln for calcination. Under high temperature conditions (about 1400℃), minerals such as calcium silicate, calcium aluminate and calcium aluminoferrite are formed. The hot clinker out of the kiln needs to be quickly cooled by the grate cooler, crushed, and stored in the clinker warehouse to obtain cement clinker products.
Cement clinker, gypsum and other mixed materials are mixed in a specific proportion and ground into cement by grinding equipment. The proportion of clinker varies depending on the type of cement.
lime slake vertical mill processing
Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) is the core equipment for clinker grinding in modern cement production lines. It has significant energy efficiency advantages over traditional ball mills.
