This product finds application in the flocculation treatment of industrial wastewater—including that from the papermaking, petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, metal processing, mineral beneficiation, food, and dyeing industries—as well as in the pH adjustment of tap water and acidic wastewater, and in sludge conditioning. It is also utilized in sectors such as thermal power plants for desulfurization, flue gas desulfurization, deacidification, and the removal of phosphates and most heavy metals.
Furthermore, it serves as a raw material for the manufacture of calcium carbide, soda ash, and bleaching powder; acts as a filler for epoxy adhesives; and is employed as a building material, metallurgical flux, and cement accelerator. Other applications include use as a decolorizing agent for vegetable oils, a soil conditioner, and a protective agent for boilers during shutdown periods. Additionally, in wastewater treatment, it delivers multiple benefits such as the removal of phosphates and most heavy metals, disinfection and sterilization, removal of ammonia nitrogen, demulsification, and coagulation.
