The characteristics and advantages of calcium hydroxide powder
The purity requirements for industrial grade are relatively loose, with Ca(OH)₂ content ≥90% – 95%, and the control of impurities is not as strict as that for food grade
The food-grade purity requirement is high, with Ca(OH)₂ content ranging from 95.0% to 98.0% or even higher, and the limit of harmful impurities such as heavy metals is extremely low
It is mainly used in the production of lime mortar in the building materials industry, sewage treatment and flue gas desulfurization in the environmental protection field, the production of chemical raw materials, and some soil improvement scenarios in agriculture.
It is mainly used in the production of soy products, beverages and candies, and the sugar industry. It can also be used as a nutritional fortifier.

The process application of calcium hydroxide powder
Dry process
After being crushed, quicklime is conveyed to the silo and then quantitatively added to the pre-digester for preliminary digestion. Subsequently, it enters the lime digester to complete the reaction and generate calcium hydroxide. After lifting, conveying and separation, qualified calcium hydroxide is obtained. This process is based on the reaction between quicklime and water, generating loose, powder-like calcium hydroxide with good volume expansion and fluidity. It has advantages such as automatic control, environmental friendliness and high efficiency, high product purity and good activity.
Wet process
After screening, quicklime is mixed with water and stirred. Through hydration reaction, calcium hydroxide slurry is generated. Then, after filtration to remove impurities, concentration and testing, qualified calcium hydroxide is obtained. This process is also based on the chemical reaction between quicklime and water. By controlling the reaction conditions, it effectively reduces dust pollution, and the resulting product has high purity and fine texture. However, its production process is rather complex, costly, consumes a large amount of water resources and generates wastewater that needs to be treated.
